We are delighted to welcome Shaun Alexander, Dominic Burke, Kevin Jarvis, Graham Macdonald, Sandy Orgill and Nicola Ross to the stable today.

Mr Alexander calls to the bar as a Lord Hope Scholar, having spent five years as a Procurator Fiscal Depute, including three years in the High Court Sexual Offences Unit. He specialises in criminal law, children’s referrals, family law and regulatory matters, with particular expertise in sexual offences involving vulnerable witnesses and expert evidence.

Dominic also calls to the bar as a Lord Hope Scholar.  Dominic qualified as a solicitor in May 2024 while working with WSA Bannerman Burke.   Dominic appeared in Sheriff Courts all over Scotland on a near daily basis and was involved in several High Court trials.

Kevin is another Lord Hope Scholar calling to the bar this year. Kevin was a Senior Procurator Fiscal Depute at Airdrie.  He has prosecuted complex and high-profile solemn-level cases including historic child abuse offences and sexual offences involving multiple complainers.

Mr Macdonald calls to the bar having latterly worked as a senior procurator fiscal depute within the specialist casework division of Crown Office.   He has significant jury trial experience.  Alongside mainstream crime, Graham prosecuted specialist jury trials of a complex nature involving allegations of fraud, VAT evasion and money laundering; health and safety; and serious organised crime.

Sandy completed his traineeship and then practiced at a leading criminal defence firm in Glasgow.  He has represented clients in Sheriff Courts across Scotland and instructed Counsel in the High Court the Justiciary. He has experience in cases involving misuse of drugs and crimes of violence and has particular experience in the preparation and conduct of trials involving sexual offences.

Nicola was latterly a Senior Procurator Fiscal Depute, dealing with a wide range of solemn and summary cases and appeals. She has experience of serious and complex cases and of working with vulnerable witnesses. Nicola appeared in many fatal accident inquiries when she worked for the Scottish Fatalities Investigation Unit.
